Sous Chef - Embassy Suites by Hilton San Francisco Airport (Finance)

The newly renovated Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport is hiring its next Complex Sous Chef! In this role, you will oversee the culinary production of the hotel's full-service restaurant, complimentary breakfast and evening reception, room service, and banquets. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with at least 2 years of culinary leadership experience who are ready for the next step in their career.

A Sous Chef is responsible for assisting with the direction and oversight of all culinary operations in the hotel's effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Wage: $75,000-$85,000 annually, dependent on experience.

What will I be doing?

As Sous Chef, you will assist with the direction and oversight of all culinary operations to ensure outstanding guest service and profitability. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all culinary activities, including meal preparation, food quality, safety standards, team performance, policy implementation, and cost controls.
  • Create and implement menus for banquets and events based on current food trends and regional tastes, in collaboration with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol standards.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, counseling, evaluations, training, scheduling, and recognition.
