Job description

Under the direction of the Restaurant Chef, the Sous Chef prepares and cooks food, cleans, stocks, and maintains all kitchen, preparation, service, dining, and storage areas.

Assists with venue management, including but not limited to expediting, managing inventory, and supervising personnel.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate Degree or higher in culinary arts, or previous work experience in an equivalent or higher position with similar responsibilities and business volumes.
  2. Four (4) years of experience in a full-service or production kitchen, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Proficiency in cooking methods, preparing soups, stocks, sauces, and operating all hot and cold culinary stations according to Foxwoods culinary standards.
  4. Ability to understand food requests, inquire about preparation, and ensure guest or team member satisfaction in English.
  5. Availability to work during weekends, holidays, and peak periods, including any shift/day assigned by the department.
  6. Physical ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs multiple times per day and push a cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
  7. Approachable, confident, respectful, attentive, and proactive in anticipating guest needs.
  8. Knowledgeable, engaging, and able to create memorable moments for guests.
