Join us to apply for the Sous Chef - Curtain Call role at Rhubarb Hospitality Collection

Curtain Call, located in Ensemble Arts, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join this dynamic project. During the day, Curtain Call operates as a coffee shop, transforming into a lively cocktail bar/lounge in the evening serving small plates.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, staff scheduling, and controlling food and labor costs.
  2. Successfully expedite services handling over 100 customers daily.
  3. Oversee the line to ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency during service.
  4. Create and maintain prep lists, place orders, and coordinate with vendors.
  5. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of back-of-house facilities.
  6. Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
  7. Resolve procedural issues to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  8. Train kitchen staff to enhance their cooking skills.
  9. Record production and operational data in compliance with local regulations.
Qualifications:
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
  2. Ability to work across cold and hot stations.
  3. Knowledge of both savory and pastry cuisines.
  4. Understanding of seasonal produce and products.
  5. Capability to deliver high standards consistently.
  6. Experience managing a kitchen team of 6 or more employees.
  7. Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  8. Experience overseeing scheduling and inventory within a set budget.
  9. Must hold a Manager Serve Safe Certification in Philadelphia.
  10. Strong communication skills.
  11. Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
