Job summary

Flik Independent School Dining is hiring a full-time SOUS CHEF at North Broward Prep in Pompano Beach, FL. The role supports the Executive Chef, cooks meals to standard recipes, and ensures food safety and timely production during the 7:00 am to 3:00 pm schedule.

Requirements include allergen management experience and a commitment to quality food service. The position offers full-time hours, a Monday–Friday workweek, and benefits typical of FISD roles, including free meals and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Previous allergen management and control experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including scheduling, payroll, and training.
• Stores food safely and maintains sanitation.
• Ensures proper food handling, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Maintains cleanliness of workstation and equipment.
• Interacts with customers to address questions and resolve concerns.
• Explains daily menu items to staff and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and communicates supply needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
