Job description

Saddlehill Cellars in Voorhees, NJ is looking to hire a full-time Sous Chef. We pay $60,000-$70,000/year and provide great benefits including bonus opportunities, health benefits, and a 401K plan with generous employer match.


ABOUT SADDLEHILL

Saddlehill Cellars features a 150 seat farm-to-table bistro with a tasting room for wine tastings which will be open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious menu items made primarily with farm-produced ingredients. In addition to selling its estate-crafted wines in the retail shop, as well as through its wine club, there will be offerings of foods from ingredients grown on the farm, in the fruit orchard, and on the vegetable fields, such as jams, sauces, spreads, and honey.


SOUS CHEF RESPONSIBILITIES

As the leader of the daily kitchen operations, you are accountable for ensuring the success of culinary activities by personally performing tasks, managing food-related functions, and supervising kitchen staff. Your role involves improving guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. You ensure high-quality products by estimating production needs, assisting in kitchen operations, and maintaining food standards and sanitation. Leading the kitchen team, you oversee food preparation, encourage collaboration, and ensure compliance with policies. Exceptional customer service is provided through daily operations management, guest interaction, and addressing complaints. You achieve goals, train employees in safety, and participate in performance appraisals while communicating effectively and attending necessary meetings to comply with regulations.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years prior kitchen supervisory or kitchen management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous upscale or fine dining experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays/ weekends.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic computer proficiency preferred
