Job summary

Legend Senior Living® is seeking a Sous Chef to assist the Chef in overseeing culinary operations, menu planning, and food preparation. You will help maintain safety and sanitation standards and contribute to Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining experience.

The role supports a high-quality dining program, with a focus on teamwork, training, and delivering exceptional resident meals in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook
• High school diploma or GED
• Current food handling licenses as required by the state
• Culinary training (preferred)
• Prior experience as a sous chef (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Chef in menu planning, food preparation, inventory, documentation and scheduling
• Preparing food in accordance with the planned menu, noting changes when applicable
• Ensuring all cooking, serving, storage, preparation, and service areas are clean, safe and organized to meet all applicable food service standards and regulations
• Monitoring quality food service in accordance with Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining standards
• Leading the kitchen environment in the absence of the Chef
