We are hiring immediately for a SOUS CHEF position.

Job Summary

Summary: As a Sous Chef I, you are responsible for supporting the success of the food program and overseeing culinary functions. This includes assisting with planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation, while adhering to client’s culture, health regulations, and company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. The Sous Chef I also motivates, trains, develops, and directs back-of-house staff to meet operational objectives and ensure customer and management satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in preparing and cooking various food items.
  2. Help plan and create menus.
  3. Implement new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary team.
  4. Manage cost controls and expenditures.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of related culinary experience, including 1 year in a management role.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, or related food service operations.
  • Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, safety, food costs, and presentation.
  • Ability to set up and manage production sheets.
  • Leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
  • ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office and Excel.
  • Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
