Red hot Emmett’s on Grove is a lively restaurant & bar seeking a hardworking and dedicated culinary professional to steward our restaurants’ commitment to excellence.
Following the success of our original location, Emmett’s, Emmett’s on Grove is a Midwest inspired supper club offering tavern style pizza, reimagined Italian classics, and an unparalleled beverage program. Celebrating the spirit of a classic American Tavern with European influences, we pair the warmth of a neighborhood restaurant with an elevated experience of a New York dining destination.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000/yr
• Consecutive days off
• PTO after 6 months of employment

The Job:
• Oversee consistently smooth & professional service
• Be vigilant and hold all BOH staff accountable to standards of excellence & safety
• Coaching new & existing cooks and prep team to execute recipes and techniques
• Plan and assign food preparation tasks in collaboration with the Chef
• Food & supplies inventory management including sourcing high quality ingredients, purchasing and receiving
• Scheduling and labor management in collaboration with Chef and Management
• Menu development in collaboration with Chef, Management and Owner
• Monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment; following up on repairs as needed
Competencies & Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience cooking & leadership in upscale/fine dining environment
• Brunch expertise
• Cookery, butchery, knife skills
• Creativity and resourcefulness
• Team oriented and positive attitude
• Strong communication skills are a must
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
• NYC Food Handler’s Certification, ServSafe Food Manager
