Job summary

Corner Table Restaurants in New York is seeking a Sous Chef to uphold our standards across the kitchen, lead a high-performing team, and contribute to buzzworthy hospitality.

You will write prep lists, supervise food prep, and maintain sanitation while managing inventory and ordering to ensure fresh, timely usage. A passion for Italian/pizza cuisine is preferred, with 2–3 years of chef experience.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of chef experience, preferably in Italian or pizza-focused restaurants.
• Honesty and integrity are essential.
• Detail-oriented with strong teamwork and communication.
• Love for hospitality and ability to take feedback.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Parla’s standards for all team members.
• Write prep lists, checks, audits; may work the line as needed.
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation compliance.
• Supervise kitchen food preparation.
• Keep stations clean and organized during shifts.
• Provide feedback and guidance to support hospitality and team success.
• Oversee company systems and policies.
• Order products and manage inventory for freshness and timeliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

THE POSITION: SOUS CHEF

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures that Parla’s standards are always maintained for all team members
• Writes prep lists, checks, and audits methods of preparation and may work the line when necessary
• Maintain compliance with DOL/Health Department regulations and uphold company food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our employees and guests
• Supervises the preparation of all food items in the kitchen
• Ensures stations are kept clean and organized throughout the shift
• Provides feedback and guidance focusing on support and hospitality, ensuring that all team members have the tools to succeed
• Overseeing and ensuring that all company systems and policies are always maintained
• Order product and manage inventory to ensure all product is fresh and used timely
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
