Job summary

Life Enriching Communities in Montgomery, OH, is seeking a seasoned dining supervisor to lead and mentor kitchen staff in a senior living community. The role requires ensuring a high standard of meals, safety, and service for residents, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week including rotating weekends.

You will model exceptional service, manage dining operations, and train team members to deliver outstanding dining experiences for residents, while maintaining HACCP and sanitation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant, or similar facility.
  • Serv Safe Certification is required.
  • HACCP training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Director of Dining Services and Executive Chef.
  • Prepare or direct food preparation using established recipes.
  • Determine quantities and supplies using production systems.
  • Ensure supplies and substitutions are available in time for preparation.
  • Set steam table; serve or ensure proper serving of food.
  • Produce quality products in a timely manner and monitor quality and presentation.
  • Follow HACCP and sanitation standards, and maintain logs daily/weekly.
  • Store food properly and maintain storage areas.
  • Report equipment repairs and maintenance to supervisor.
  • Prepare all food following standard recipes and diets.
  • Plan food production to align with meal serving hours while preserving quality and appeal.
  • Maintain a neat, clean work area and proper equipment hygiene.
  • Complete food temperature checks before service.

You, our Ideal Candidate

You are a service-oriented and experienced dining professional with a passion for leading and mentoring others. You model exceptional service, have a strong understanding of dining operations, and bring enthusiasm to training and supporting team members while ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Director of Dining Services and Executive Chef
  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and recipes
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
    • Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
    • Set steam table; serves or ensures proper serving of food for dining room or nursing unit.
    • Produces quality products in a timely manner. Continually monitors food quality and presentation.
  • Follows all HACCP protocols and complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards including daily and weekly completion of logs. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item. Maintains storage areas.
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
  • Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders. Preps food as necessary.
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
  • Completes food temperature checks before service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and Culinary Arts training. A Culinary Arts Degree or certification by ACF preferred.
  • Serv Safe Certification is required
  • A minimum of 3 years related production and supervisory experience in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant, or similar facility.
  • Must possess a customer service background and orientation
  • HACCP training preferred.
