Job summary

Claiborne Senior Living in Mississippi is seeking a dependable Sous Chef to prepare meals that meet residents' dietary needs and create an enjoyable dining experience. You will contribute to a welcoming kitchen environment and work closely with the Dining Services Director to maintain quality and resident satisfaction.

You will lead kitchen operations, coordinate prep, and support special events while upholding safety, sanitation, and consistent presentation for our residents and families.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in food preparation and service.
• Must hold or be able to obtain ServSafe/Food Handler’s permit.
• Solid knowledge of food safety, sanitation and safe handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and accommodate special diets.
• Dependable team player with professionalism and resident focus.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve flavorful meals following approved menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Coordinate food prep so meals are served on time with consistent quality.

What we're looking for

• At least two years of experience in food preparation and service.
• A valid ServSafe/Food Handler’s permit, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, accommodate special diets, and manage preparation for scheduled meal service.
• A dependable team player who brings professionalism, friendliness, and a commitment to resident satisfaction.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
