As a Sous Chef, you are more than a cook; you are a mentor, a strategist, and a guardian of quality. You will oversee daily operations, lead a dedicated kitchen staff, and ensure every plate served across our 17,000-acre paradise meets our exacting standards.

The Impact You'll Make: Culinary Leadership

You are accountable for the overall success of daily kitchen operations, balancing creative talent with rigorous management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Excellence: Supervise all kitchen areas and shift operations to ensure consistent, high-quality production that aligns with the Resort Executive Chef's vision.
  • Team Development: Directly guide, mentor, and coach kitchen staff. You will oversee scheduling, performance appraisals, and training to foster a culture of growth and "Aggressive Hospitality."
  • Culinary Mastery: Artfully prepare wholesome foods for various outlets, ranging from high-volume banquet event orders to delicate upscale plating, utilizing a full range of advanced kitchen equipment.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the operating budget by controlling food waste, monitoring portion control, and effectively using the Labor Management System for scheduling.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal (Health Department/OSHA) regulations. Maintain immaculate organization in walk-ins and storage areas.
  • Guest Engagement: In our open kitchens, proactively engage with members and guests, building positive relationships and providing insight into our culinary offerings.
What You Bring to the Team
  • The Experience: A 2-year culinary degree with 2 years of professional experience, OR 4 years of experience in a high-volume/upscale culinary leadership role.
  • Technical Skill: Advanced knowledge of food production, presentation, and flavor profiles. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Agilysys (preferred).
  • Leadership Traits: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, solve complex problems under pressure, and model appropriate professional behavior.
  • Flexibility: A commitment to working holidays, nights, and weekends to support resort demand across various F&B outlets.
  • Requirements: * Must be 18+ years of age.
  • ServSafe Manager Certificate and Food Handler's Certificate required.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory MVR for resort insurability.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift to 50 lbs.
