Job Details

The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group is seeking a driven and energetic individual to join as a Sous Chef. Responsibilities include staff development, training, coaching, recipe testing, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee and execute the vision for Roots Handmade Pizza Printer's Row.

The role involves working a station in the kitchen and being a key leader in back-of-house systems and organization. The successful candidate will contribute to customer satisfaction and manage costs effectively to ensure profitability.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up and stock stations with necessary mise en place
  • Follow instructions from the executive chef and kitchen managers
  • Prepare and cook food for service
  • Maintain professionalism with coworkers
  • Ensure timely, high-quality food output
  • Comply with nutrition and allergy standards
  • Assist with food preparation
  • Obtain a Food Handlers Certificate within two weeks of hire

Other Functions:

  • Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operations
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, restock, and clean
  • Manage food and labor costs

Physical Functions:

  • Stand/walk for at least 10 hours
  • Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Work in warm and cool environments
  • Handle potential allergens

Qualifications, Education, and Behavior:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum 3 years of line cook experience
  • Ability to work quickly and safely
  • Proficient knife skills
  • Experience in high-volume environments
  • Availability for early mornings or late evenings
  • Understanding of cooking methods and kitchen equipment
