Job summary

The Wilmington Group is seeking a Sourcing & Vendor Manager to lead end-to-end vendor sourcing and onboarding across hauler and recycling partners. You will manage procurement processes, drive cost optimization, and ensure vendor compliance while partnering with Finance, Operations, and Billing teams.

The role requires 5–8+ years in vendor management and strategic sourcing, with strong negotiation, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, operations, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and supplier performance programs.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate pricing structures, service models, and total cost of ownership.
  • Experience leading sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, bid evaluations, vendor selection, and contract execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational, financial, and performance data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business systems used for vendor, contract, or procurement management.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end vendor sourcing, onboarding, and network development for hauler and recycling partners.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors based on coverage, capability, service quality, and pricing competitiveness, including maintaining an active vendor database.
  • Partner with finance to ensure paperwork is completed to properly setup vendor partners.
  • Map and validate active services, vendor coverage, service gaps, and management models.
  • Identify and execute vendor optimization strategies, including consolidation opportunities and ROI analysis.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives including RFPs, bid evaluations, SLA negotiation, and award recommendations.
  • Manage vendor contracts and commercial terms, including pricing structures, renewals, change orders, rate validation, and billing alignment.
  • Monitor vendor performance through scorecards, SLA compliance, and service quality metrics.
  • Partner with operations to ensure successful new client launches.
  • Serve as escalation point for vendor service issues, disruptions, and compliance concerns.

Position Summary

The Sourcing & Vendor Manager serves as the primary liaison between the company and its network of haulers and service vendors, ensuring strong partnerships that support operational success. This role is responsible for overseeing the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing, procurement, onboarding, performance management, and ongoing relationship development. The Sourcing & Vendor Manager drives cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high service standards and vendor accountability. Key responsibilities include supporting bids and contract negotiations, resolving disputes, managing service-related issues, and ensuring vendor compliance with company expectations. Working closely with Operations, Billing, and Finance teams, this position helps ensure efficient end-to-end vendor management processes that contribute to service excellence, operational efficiency, and business growth.

Travel Demands:Hybrid/remote work environment with the ability to support vendors across multiple regions and time zones.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:

  • Own end-to-end vendor sourcing, onboarding, and network development for hauler and recycling partners.

  • Manage vendor contracts and commercial terms, including SLA requirements, pricing structures, renewals, change orders, rate validation, and billing alignment.
  • Monitor vendor performance through scorecards, SLA compliance, and service quality metrics.
  • Partner closely with operations to ensure that new client launches are successfully implemented.
  • Serve as the escalation point for vendor service issues, operational disruptions, and compliance concerns.
Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the U.S. hauler, recycling, and vendor service landscape.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed operations.
  • Knowledge of contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, procurement platforms, or sourcing tools.
  • Experience developing vendor scorecards, KPI frameworks, and supplier performance programs.
  • Background in cost optimization, network design, vendor consolidation, or strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience working closely with operations, finance, billing, or audit teams to support vendor governance and compliance.
