Job summary

Shield AI seeks a procurement professional to build strong supplier partnerships and drive supply chain initiatives for aerospace/defense products. You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to secure resources for development and production in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

You’ll source mechanical commodities, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality while supporting NPI, BOM reviews, and ERP data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain for manufacturing or aerospace/defense.
• Experience sourcing mechanical commodities (machined parts, sheet metal, fasteners, castings).
• Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure mechanical commodities for aerospace/defense programs.
• Solicit quotations, evaluate pricing and lead times, negotiate terms.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
• Review drawings, BOMs, and specifications with suppliers.
• Coordinate supplier quotes for prototypes and material readiness.
• Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality to resolve supply issues.
• Track supplier commitments and communicate risks to production.
• Support supplier qualification, FAI, and quality requirements.
• Maintain supplier data, pricing, lead times in ERP.
