Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Hatfield, PA to lead procurement projects and optimize supplier performance within the Parker Precision Fluidics Division. You will work with stakeholders across divisions on contracts, risk, and LEAN purchasing practices.

The role requires strong problem-solving, manufacturing knowledge, and collaboration with suppliers, engineers, and operations to drive cost reductions and supply chain improvements.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in Supply Chain management or a relevant discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience in Supply Chain or a technical role preferred.
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing and relevant concepts/methodologies required.
  • Contract development and review experience.
  • Proven ability to partner with suppliers to improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Inherent ability to identify opportunities to improve supply chain performance and cost while effectively influencing others to implement improvements.
  • Project management and problem-solving skills required. Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in sourcing plastic molded, rubber molded, or machined components preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and understand cost drivers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tools and macros.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external stakeholders

  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and drive maximum performance. Actively maintain supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate, create and manage contracts and agreements that support LEAN manufacturing principles, including cost, total landed cost, terms, and performance.
  • Devise ways and means to maximize commodity buying efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Develop and manage data to support activities.
  • Partner with New Product Development Engineers with sourcing decisions and activities.
  • Develop commodity strategy.

Position Summary

This position leads individual Procurement projects and/or a set of assigned commodities by deploying best practice procurement tools and negotiation skills. The Procurement Specialist does this while optimizing supplier performance and minimizing risk in the supply chain to enable the Parker Precision Fluidics Supply Chain strategy. The Procurement Specialist utilizes strong problem-solving skills and manufacturing knowledge to effectively identify process, sourcing and contract improvement opportunities. This is a highly visible role in the Parker Precision Fluidics Division with regular engagement with stakeholders at all levels in the Division.

This position directly reports to the Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager and is based in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. Key interactions occur with suppliers, the Supply Chain Team, Operations and all Engineering Teams.
