Job summary

Danfoss, a global engineering leader, seeks a Sourcing Project Manager to drive procurement programs in Ames, IA. You will partner with global category managers to initiate, design and execute projects that meet quality and cost goals while engaging suppliers cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, supply chain or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in procurement/sourcing.
• Experience delivering cost reductions and meeting aggressive objectives.
• Ability to work in a high quality, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of cost drivers, market dynamics and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Act as a procurement representative in meetings and projects.
• Lead and manage projects to generate cost savings.
• Coordinate involvement of suppliers in new product development.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders for regional and global sourcing.
• Run ideation workshops with suppliers to build a cost-savings pipeline.
• Support redesign projects and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements (Change Control, PPAP).
• Identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Collaborate with global managers to meet quality and cost goals.
