Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement.
  • Experience negotiating supply agreements with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Ability to read single line diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment specs at a commercial level.
  • Track record of managing long-lead equipment and supplier capacity constraints.
  • Data center, utility, or mission-critical project experience preferred.

  • Own sourcing strategies for electrical materials across capital projects.
  • Lead RFQs and bid evaluations with Engineering.
  • Negotiate supply agreements including price adjusters and tariff strategies.
  • Secure manufacturing slots for long-lead equipment and track project schedules.
  • Qualify and dual source critical suppliers to avoid single points of failure.
  • Partner with procure-to-pay to convert awards into POs and timely payments.
  • Report spend, savings, and supply risk and recommend improvements.

About the role

Every data center Hut 8 builds depends on a particular list of materials that are expensive, commodity driven, and critical to get on time. This Sourcing Manager owns those categories.

The Sourcing Manager works cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, Finance/AP, Legal, and Operations to protect project schedules and minimize material supply risk across capital projects.

Some of the responsibilities you can expect include the following:

  • Own sourcing strategies for specialty construction materials including MV and LV cables, conduit, grounding systems, fiber, , and electrical distribution equipment across the full site supply chain.
  • Lead RFQs and technical and commercial bid evaluations with Engineering, including approved manufacturers and approved equals
  • Negotiate supply and frame agreements, including copper and aluminum price adjusters, tariff fluctuation strategies lead time commitments, and warranty terms
  • Secure manufacturing slots for long lead equipment and track production against project schedules, identifying early risk indicators such as capacity constraints or sub-supplier delays
  • Qualify and dual source critical suppliers so no single manufacturer can stop a project
  • Partner with the procure-to-pay team so awarded agreements translate into accurate purchase orders, on time delivery, and payments aligned with contractual milestones
  • Report category spend, savings, and supply risk, and recommend improvements that reduce risk and improve cash flow timing
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement of electrical materials and equipment for capital projects
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating supply agreements with manufacturers and distributors, including metal price adjustment terms
  • Comfortable reading single line diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment specifications at a commercial level
  • Track record of managing long-leaded equipment and supplier capacity constraints
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving infrastructure or industrial environment
  • Preferred: Data center, utility, or mission critical project experience; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Odoo)
