Job summary

Leatherman Tool Brand is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, Sourcing, and global suppliers to enhance supplier performance, product quality, delivery, cost, and supply chain resilience. Portland-based with 3–5 trips yearly, you will lead supplier qualification, improve manufacturability, and drive continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in manufacturing/sourcing engineering, can read GD&T drawings, and possess strong

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, sourcing, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to read engineering drawings with working knowledge of GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering to improve manufacturability and supplier capability.

What You'll Bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, sourcing, or a related engineering discipline.
• Ability to read engineering drawings with working knowledge of GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, process capability, or structured root cause methodologies.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or supplier development.
• Experience with machining, casting, MIM, stamping, heat treating, coatings, or similar manufacturing processes.
• ERP/PLM experience.
• Experience leveraging AI or digital technologies to improve engineering or manufacturing processes.

Travel

• Primarily Portland-based
• Approximately 3–5 trips annually, including 1–2 international supplier visits
