Job description

Master Scheduler — Help Build the Plan Behind an Iconic American Brand

At Leatherman Tool Group, we build products people depend on—and behind every product we make is a supply plan that brings together customer demand, materials, people, equipment, inventory, and manufacturing capacity.

We're looking for an experienced Master Scheduler who can bring those pieces together.

In this highly collaborative role, you'll own Leatherman's Master Production Schedule (MPS) and forward-looking supply plan, transforming demand and operational constraints into a realistic, capacity-validated plan for our manufacturing operation in Portland, Oregon.

This isn't simply a role that maintains a schedule. We're looking for someone who can analyze, challenge, scenario-plan, influence, and improve how we plan.

What You'll Do

You'll own the MPS across our planning horizon and work closely with teams throughout Leatherman to make sure our plan is both ambitious and achievable.

Your work will include:

  • Developing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule based on forecasted demand, inventory targets, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Owning Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) and evaluating capacity, material, supplier, inventory, and operational constraints.
  • Leading the monthly Supply Feasibility Review and pressure-testing proposed production plans.
  • Developing supply scenarios and clearly communicating business tradeoffs and recommendations.
  • Evaluating MPS change requests while protecting schedule stability and customer-service objectives.
  • Recommending solutions including overtime, prebuilding, alternate routings, outsourcing, expediting, inventory strategies, and demand movement.
  • Partnering across Demand Planning, Production Scheduling, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Logistics, Engineering, Sales, and other functions.
  • Monitoring finished-goods inventory, production requirements, customer-service risks, and plan performance.
  • Developing and monitoring planning KPIs, including MPS attainment, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.
  • Improving master-scheduling methodologies, planning policies, ERP capabilities, and data quality.
  • Developing and applying AI-enabled tools to accelerate planning analysis, reporting, and automation.
  • Serving as a subject-matter expert and trusted planning partner throughout the organization.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing planner who combines technical planning expertise with strong business judgment and communication skills.

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Statistics, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 6–7+ years of planning experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of master production scheduling, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Expertise using advanced planning/scheduling software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel and data-analysis skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
  • Experience developing or applying AI-enabled tools to planning, reporting, or analysis.
  • ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Fundamentals certification is a plus.
