Job summary

MARSHALLTOWN, the leading manufacturer and distributor of construction tools, seeks a Sourcing Engineer for our Fayetteville, AR facility. The role focuses on managing and executing projects within the Supply Chain/Purchasing department, with emphasis on supplier quality, new supplier development, ERP/MRP improvements, and supply chain optimization.

Travel up to 20% is expected. The Sourcing Engineer leads supplier selection, cost analyses, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Related sourcing experience acquiring materials, components, and services preferred.
• Experience with steel, aluminum, wood and/or plastics manufacturing processes preferred.
• Proven problem solving and project management in operations, manufacturing or supply chain.
• Business system (ERP/MRP) experience a plus.
• Strong spreadsheet and database knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to consult and interact with suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects within the purchasing department including new supplier development, cost reduction, and process improvement.
• Apply statistical knowledge to identify areas for improvement within manufacturing processes in supply chain.
• New & existing product sourcing.
• Maintain accurate project schedules and communicate any issues in a timely manner to management.
• Cost based comparative analysis (Make vs Buy, Buy vs. Buy analysis).
• Evaluate supplier capabilities with respect to our business demands.
• Perform inventory analysis & ERP process management (Safety Stock levels, Order Frequency, Order Quantity’s, etc.).
• Work closely with the product development group to ensure new products are brought to production with adequate supply chain consideration.
• Manage Supplier Quality Issue Tracking system in MARSHALLTOWN and follow vendor related issues from creation to closure.
• Identify discrepancies in product specifications and work with vendors to correct any issues.

MARSHALLTOWN, the leading manufacturer and distributor of construction tools is seeking a Sourcing Engineer for our Fayetteville, Arkansas facility. At MARSHALLTOWN, the Sourcing Engineer is responsible for the management and execution of projects within the Supply Chain/Purchasing department. Improvement projects would focus on the areas of supplier quality, new supplier development and qualification, ERP system improvements, supply/demand modelling, logistics/transportation optimization, and supplier quality improvement. This is not a remote work position. Some domestic and international travel will be required. (Less than 20%)
