Job summary

Dover Corp in Conyers, GA is seeking a Sourcing Commodity Analyst to support strategic sourcing of direct categories, including Refrigeration, Electronics, and Sheet Metal. You will help manage approximately $60-80 million in annual spend and drive cost reductions in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Corporate Sourcing, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and suppliers, applying VA/VE techniques, risk management, and data-driven decision making to enable value for the business.

Qualifications

BS in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum of three years of work experience in manufacturing or supply chain industry.
MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute strategic cost-savings projects for key commodities, including Refrigeration, Electronics, and Sheet Metal.
Negotiate supplier contracts including pricing, lead time, stocking agreements, and non-price terms.
Create supplier risk management strategies to mitigate risk across the supply chain.
Execute make-vs-buy decisions by working with internal team members and leveraging data to drive effective decisions.
Interact with Dover Corporate Sourcing, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and suppliers.
Identify and drive deployment of cost savings, structuring cost reduction programs using VA/VE techniques, and other tool sets to reduce supply chain complexities and waste.
Analyze cost, delivery, performance, and quality data to identify cost-savings opportunities, risk mitigation actions, and supplier performance escalations.
Creating executive-style presentations summarizing analytical data across our company
Lead discussions around spend analytics and other data into presentations for management reviews.

Job Title: Sourcing Commodity Analyst

Location: Conyers, GA

What we are looking for:

We're seeking a strong candidate to join our Sourcing group and support the strategic sourcing of direct categories, including Refrigeration Products, Electronics, and Sheet Metal. In this role, you will support approximately $60-80 million in annual spend across key categories. This is an exciting opportunity in a growing business, with responsibility for executing sourcing strategies in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.

The Sourcing Analyst will support the comprehensive strategy for these categories, including supplier management and development, supplier risk analysis, and cost savings for fast-growing categories purchased by Hillphoenix. Other strategic activities include global sourcing efforts, supply base optimization, make-versus-buy decisions, new product development, and risk mitigation. This position reports to the Sourcing Manager.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

What are the basic qualifications?

Required: BS Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum of three years of work experience in manufacturing or supply chain industry.

What are the preferred qualifications?

Demonstrated ability to apply a systematic, disciplined approach to managing technical product sourcing.
Working knowledge of sourcing principles, including cost, risk, contracts, delivery, production, demand, and forecasting.
The Sourcing Analyst needs to have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong organizational skills, the ability to implement a strategic plan, a strong bias for action, and a continuous improvement mindset.
High energy and self-motivated.
Strong sense of urgency balanced with process compliance.
Basic knowledge of technical drawings and specifications.
Basic understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, key commodities such as compressors, evaporator condensers, valves (solenoid and manual), couplings, CDUs, controllers, control panels, sheet metal, and sensors.
Strong analytical skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization, to support sourcing decision-making, pricing reviews, and process tracking reports.
Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel for data analytics and executive-level presentations.
Clear and concise communication skills to share analytical details and drive effective decision-making.
