Job summary

ABB is seeking a procurement professional in Florence, SC to purchase materials per specs, price, delivery, and terms onsite. You will ensure purchasing activities align with ABB policies and collaborate with the category team to identify new suppliers.

Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead, the role focuses on PO creation, supplier delivery confirmation, negotiating terms, and bid evaluation to secure best value while supporting ABB’s EL Services division in Florence, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or technical field with 3+ years in manufacturing or supply chain.
• SAP or ERP experience is required.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Initiate Purchase Orders in the system per requisitions and confirm delivery with suppliers.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and renew price lists and terms and conditions.
• Recommend frame agreements to management and execute upon approval.
• Analyze and evaluating bids to determine the optimal value.

This position reports to:

Procurement Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.

The work model for the role is: Onsite #Li-Onsite

This role is contributing to the EL Services division in Florence, SC

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Initiating Purchase Orders in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirming delivery with suppliers, monitoring, and tracking supplier performance to PO requirements.
• Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists and terms and conditions.
• Recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.
• Analyzing and evaluating bids to determine the optimal value.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor degree in supply chain, business, or technical field PLUS minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or related business OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 5 years experience OR High School diploma/GED PLUS minimum 7 years of related experience.
• SAP or ERP experience required.
• Knowledge of ABB initiatives related to SAP Ariba and CFIN/FTP.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
