Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an IT Procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing of software, hardware and services. Reporting to Group Manager, IT Procurement, you will drive supplier selection, bid analysis, and contract negotiations to maximize value and meet requirements.

You will build stakeholder relationships, manage spend of about $22M annually in the IT VAR category, and provide ongoing vendor management, PO processing, forecasting and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain/Logistics, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related technical field.
  • Course-work in purchasing, materials management, engineering, or quality assurance desirable.
  • CPM/CPSM certification a plus.
  • Sourcing or related experience with procurement principles or global supply chain management.
  • Internship/Co-Op experiences in purchasing/manufacturing a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategic sourcing activities for the IT VAR category, representing approximately $22M in annual spend.
  • Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, industry trends, and historical spend to strengthen sourcing strategies and negotiations.
  • Build internal stakeholder relationships to understand business needs and identify short- and long-term supply chain improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate supplier selection and qualification activities, including development, review, and approval of supplier selection criteria.
  • Prepare and execute RFPs/RFQs, analyze bids and cost breakdowns, compare supplier proposals, and support sourcing recommendations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, drive best overall cost, and support contracts generally ranging from $50K to $500K in value.
  • Provide ongoing IT Procurement and vendor management support, including purchase orders, invoicing, forecasting, quality issue resolution, supplier capacity, demand, and performance monitoring.
  • Resolve purchasing and supplier issues, including expediting goods, revising or canceling purchase orders, improving terms, addressing rejected goods, rework costs, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Develop long-term commercial relationships with strategic suppliers while supporting business metrics and category objectives.
  • Complete spend analysis and prepare executive-ready reports summarizing sourcing recommendations, savings results, stakeholder impacts, operational considerations, and supply base consolidation opportunities.

Job Description

Under the direction of and reporting to a Group Manager, IT Procurement at Milwaukee Tool, primary duties include sourcing and category operations of information technology software, hardware, and professional services. Works with business and support units to help source most suitable technology suppliers at the best price to meet requirements. Carries out the Strategic Sourcing process designed to maximize competition and leverage when selecting and contracting with chosen vendors. Negotiates contracts generally between $50k and $500k in value.

Educational Requirements

Experience Requirements
  • Sourcing or related experience, including proven capability using procurement principles or global supply chain management responsibilities.
  • Internship/Co-Op experiences in purchasing, manufacturing, or related experience a plus
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or globally (up to 10%).
  • The role is not remote. The person will need to report to the Milwaukee Office
