We currently have a career opportunity at Sound Transit Security Operations Center as Dispatchers. Team members will receive $500 sign-on bonuses after completing 90, 150, 210, and 270 days. *Must meet requirements*

You will:

Receive hands-on training in CCTV operation, dispatching, computer systems, and tactical skills such as handcuffing, baton use, OC spray, defensive tactics, and CPR/First Aid. This role offers stability, experience, and career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from the public, system dispatchers, employees, customers, and law enforcement via phone, radio, observations, and email.
  • Monitor CCTV systems across multiple locations.
  • Maintain the status and location of security personnel.
  • Dispatch field personnel for incidents such as alarms, disturbances, and client requests.
  • Utilize communication equipment including computers, radios, phones, and fax machines.
  • Self-manage, organize, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems quickly.
  • Perform clerical duties, keep detailed records, and log daily activities into dispatch systems.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of all information.
  • Maintain site security and monitor for unusual conditions.
  • Prepare reports on incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities using CCTV.
  • Build positive community relationships and uphold the reputation of Sound Transit.
  • Display professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Assist first responders when needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing (including THC).
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, days, or nights.
  • Preferred 2 years of dispatch, military, security, law enforcement, corrections, fire, EMS, customer service experience, or relevant college degree.
  • Willing to attend mandatory paid training.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Genuine interest in the security industry.
  • Ability to sit or stand for entire shift.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Washington State Security License.
  • 21 years of age or older.

Starting wage: $28.50 per hour

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification Requirements: Valid State Driver's License.

This position reports to the Uniform Security Manager and is a Full-Time Night Shift role. Occasional travel may be required.
