Job summary

Dal-Tile Corp. is seeking a production floater to support multiple areas on the floor. The role centers on covering shifts and departments as needed, ensuring continuous production coverage and quality control.

You will inspect tile quality, identify defects, and maintain clean, safe work areas while following procedures. The position requires the ability to learn multiple functions, good communication, and basic English skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished tile for shade, quality, and visual defects.
• Identify and remove defective tile from production.
• Monitor equipment and report issues to supervisors.
• Follow established operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Float into other assignments/departments as needed to provide coverage for absences.
• Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.

Job description

This position will primarily report to and work on D Shift when not providing coverage in other areas. As a floater, the associate will be expected to provide coverage for employees who are out due to FMLA, PTO, or other staffing needs, so flexibility with assignments and potentially schedules is an important part of the role.

Primary D Shift Schedule:

• Wednesday: 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM.
• Thursday–Saturday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Inspect finished tile for shade, quality, and visual defects.
• Identify and remove defective tile from the production process.
• Monitor equipment and production processes and report issues to supervisors.
• Follow established operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Float into other assignments/departments as needed to provide coverage for employees on FMLA, PTO, or other absences.
• Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple functions and work where coverage is needed.
• Good communication, listening, and basic record-keeping skills.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to accurately inspect products and identify quality issues.

Physical/Work Environment:

This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Associates may lift or move up to 50 pounds and work around moving machinery, airborne particles, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
