Job summary

Class Produce Group in Jessup, MD is seeking a Sorter Packer to inspect, grade and repack produce to meet customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse. You will unload boxes from pallets and label items for shipment.

Color recognition and the ability to stand for long periods are required, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. High school diploma preferred but not required. Schedule: 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., four days a week.

Qualifications

• One year warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Must be able to stand long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and grade produce to determine whether it meets an acceptable standard of quality, size, and/or color.
• Repack produce.
• Unloads boxes from pallet.
• Separates product based on color and size.
• Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of.
• Labels products by customer order.
• Stack product onto the finished pallet as directed.
• Clean work area and keep it free of water and debris.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Inspect and grade produce to determine whether it meets an acceptable standard of quality, size, and/or color
• Repack produce
• Unloads boxes from pallet
• Separates product based on color and size
• Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of
• Labels products by customer order
• Stack product onto the finished pallet as directed
• Clean work area and keep it free of water and debris
• Performs other duties as assigned

Schedule:

• 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (10 hour days)
• 4 Days per week
• Candidates will be advised of workdays and days off at hire

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES:

Produce experience is preferred for 1 year of experience working in a warehouse. Ability to distinguish colors.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
