Job summary

The Class Produce Group in Jessup, MD is seeking a dedicated Sorter Packer to inspect and grade produce according to customer orders. This role emphasizes accuracy in quality, size, and color, plus repacking and pallet loading.

The position operates on 10-hour days, four days per week, with workdays advised at hire. You will stand for long periods, handle up to 35–50 pounds, and work in a wet, loud, cold, and humid warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Produce experience is preferred for 1 year of experience working in a warehouse.
• Ability to distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and grade produce to determine whether it meets an acceptable standard of quality, size, and/or color
• Repack produce
• Unloads boxes from pallet
• Separates product based on color and size
• Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of
• Labels products by customer order
• Stack product onto the finished pallet as directed
• Clean work area and keep it free of water and debris
• Performs other duties as assigned

Schedule

7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (10 hour days) 4 Days per week Candidates will be advised of workdays and days off at hire

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES: Produce experience is preferred for 1 year of experience working in a warehouse. Ability to distinguish colors.

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
