Job summary

Amsted Automotive is seeking an Inventory/Quality Inspector to visually inspect parts, use gages, and ensure quality. The role includes loading/unloading, accurate data entry, and safe forklift operation in a manufacturing setting.

You will contribute to a safe, inclusive culture with opportunities for growth and hands-on training. This full-time position emphasizes teamwork and adherence to quality policies within an ESOP-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; pre-hire math test may be required.
  • Visual acuity, manual dexterity, metal alertness, and forklift operation are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts visually for defects.
  • Inspect parts using attribute and variable gages.
  • Load and unload parts as required.

  • Operate forklift to move and sort materials.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Inspect parts visually for a large variety of known defects.
  • Inspect parts using attribute and variable gages.
  • Discern between good parts, defective parts, and suspect parts.
  • Seek help when suspect and defective parts are detected.
  • Load and unload parts as required.
  • Accurately record and report quantities processed.
  • Utilize forklift to move and sort material as required.
  • Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork, including computer data entry.
  • Seek help if problems arise and ask questions if directions are not understood.
  • Use various testing devices, chemicals and material moving equipment according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  • Adhere to AAG material identification and tagging procedures.
  • Be willing to participate in training sessions related to this position and safety.
  • Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment and tools.
  • Understand and perform to the AAG Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
  • Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
  • Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
  • Train and assist other employees as required.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with specific physical restrictions.

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, dirt, oil and grease, with several elements continuously present to the extent of being objectionable. Full-time position. May require some overtime and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education :

High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Must successfully complete the pre-hire math test.

Experience :

Previous experience working in an industrial environment is helpful but not required.

Skills & Knowledge :

Visual acuity, manual dexterity, metal alertness and forklift operation.
