Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die in Toledo, OH, is seeking a Sort Operator to inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh parts for defects using precision measuring instruments and equipment.

You will work the 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:00 PM) with overtime on daily, weekend, and some holiday schedules. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with weekly pay and full benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • Oral communication and comprehension required.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to apply general rules to problems and inspect for defects.
  • Fine motor skills for precise measurement and handling.

Responsibilities

  • Discard or reject items not meeting specifications.
  • Mark items with grade or acceptance status.
  • Measure dimensions using rulers, calipers, gauges or micrometers.
  • Notify supervisors of production issues.
  • Inspect, test or measure materials for conformity to specs.
  • Monitor operations and adjust processes as needed.
  • Record data such as weights, temperatures, grades, or quantities inspected.
  • Remove defects from products or parts.
  • Stack or arrange tested products for further processing or packaging.
  • Weigh materials to verify packaging or ingredient quantities.
  • Maintain records of daily data communications and actions.

Sort Operator – Toledo, Ohio

Job Summary

Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh nonagricultural raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled parts or products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Hours
  • 1st shift Monday - Friday, 6:00AM-2:00PM
  • Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays)

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove defects, such as chips, burrs, or lap corroded or pitted surfaces.
  • Stack or arrange tested products for further processing, shipping, or packaging.
  • Weigh materials, products, containers, or samples to verify packaging weights or ingredient quantities.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
