Job summary

ITW Shakeproof Fasteners in Elgin, IL is seeking a Sort Machine Operator to operate multiple sorting machines and ensure products meet customer specifications. You will perform daily checks, preventive maintenance, and camera verification after changeovers to ensure only defect-free goods are labeled and prepared for shipping.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and reading skills, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED; manufacturing experience or training a plus.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and colleagues.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs and charts.
• Forklift Certification is required.

Job Summary

The Sort Machine Operator will operate multiple machines to sort product meeting customer requirements. Ensures product is free of mixtures and defects by performing the following duties:

Primary Responsibilities

• Starts machine and performs daily checks to detect malfunctions of machine. Reports malfunction to supervisor.

• Performs daily preventive maintenance and simple setups to ensure good operation of machines.

• Perform red rabbits (Camera Verification) after each machine changeover Label finished goods.

• Prepares product to ship free of mixtures and product defects

• Weigh and check finished goods

• Maintains a safe, clean/sanitized and organized work environment always.

• Performance to comply with all company Procedures, Policies, Work Instructions, knowledge of internal and external requirements.

• Assist in making improvements to the overall business using ITW operating principles.

Compensation Information:

$22.40 per hour plus 10% shift premium
