Job summary

Eastern Radiologists, Inc. is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist to perform acquisition, processing, archiving of ultrasound images and patient care in the ultrasound department. Hours are PRN, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Breast Ultrasound experience is required; Breast certification is not required. Responsibilities include patient interaction, equipment operation, procedure explanation, history gathering, and collaboration with radiologists.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology/ Ultrasonography School.
  • Breast Ultrasound experience required.
  • Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT. Sub-specialty registration in US required. BLS/CPR certification required. Maintains Continuing Education Credits.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients in a respectful, appropriate and courteous manner.
  • Maintain room cleanliness, stock rooms and order supplies if necessary.
  • Assist patient on and off exam tables and with dressing of patient.
  • Explains procedure to patient and maintains patient’s safety.
  • Obtain patient’s clinical history and investigates correlation of complimentary procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and ultrasound machine and transducers.
  • Provide patient care and comfort and honors patient’s bill of rights.
  • Discusss and interprets studies along with radiologist.
  • Updates ACR Ultrasound Accreditation.
  • Follows and attends all HIPPA, blood borne and OSHA guidelines and classes.
  • Works with clinical students.
  • Collect, wash, and restock laundry as needed.
  • Scans appropriate paperwork into PACS.
  • Keeps up with continuing education as required.
  • Help with x-rays and bone density as needed.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested.

Job Summary:

Under indirect supervision performs all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of ultrasound images and is responsible for the care of the patient while in the ultrasound department. The hours for this position would be on a PRN basis Monday-Friday within the hours of 8am-5pm. Breast Ultrasound experienced required, Breast certification not required.

Specifications:
