Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team across multiple locations in Beaverton, OR. You will operate ultrasound equipment to acquire diagnostic images, engage with patients, and maintain accurate RIS records.

The role requires ARDMS certification, AMA/CAAHEP education, CPR, and state licensure if applicable. DailyPay option available as part of our flexible pay program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited sonography program or CAAHEP.
• Registered ARDMS sonographer in good standing.
• Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.).
• CPR certification and state licensure if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned ultrasound scanners to produce diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures to patients and position them for optimal imaging.
• Maintain patient records in RIS and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation with accurate history.

The pay range for this position is $31.65 - $58.00 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a PRN position with variable hours at various locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Sonography Imaging

• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
• Explains and prepares patients for Sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
• Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
• Adjusts Sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
• Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
• Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
• Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
• Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
• Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
• Routinely prepares examination for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and processing of films, adequate clinical history and previous x-rays for comparison (if available)
• Practices and maintains standard precautions and infection control policy standards

(5%) Sonography Department Support

• Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
• Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
• Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
3. Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
4. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
5. Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
6. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
7. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently

Preferred:

1. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
2. OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
3. Bilingual
