Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a per diem Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. You will operate ultrasound scanners, image a variety of body parts, and ensure patient comfort during procedures.

The ideal candidate holds ARDMS registration, AMA/CAAHEP education, and CPR certification, with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Per diem shifts vary and daily pay options are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of AMA accredited sonography program or CAAHEP.
• Registered ARDMS sonographer in good standing.
• Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB/BR/ObGyn).
• Licensed Sonographer in the applicable state, if required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform sonography procedures independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images for physicians.
• Explain procedures and position patients to obtain proper images.
• Perform routine and advanced imaging with minimal supervision.
• Adjust scan parameters and follow physician orders accurately.
• Maintain RIS records and ensure safety compliance.
• Keep work area clean and maintain equipment and accreditation readiness.
• Assist with protocol updates, inventory, and training as needed.

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $58.00 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologistto join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. This position is per diem, shifts will vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Sonography Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Sonography Department Support

1. Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Other Duties as Assigned

1. Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Required:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
3. Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
4. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
5. Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
6. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
7. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently

Preferred:

1. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
2. OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
3. Bilingual
