Job summary

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN Sonographer to operate ultrasound scanners and produce high-quality diagnostic images. You will guide patients through procedures, maintain safety, and ensure accurate RIS documentation, with a patient-centered approach.

Required credentials include AMA/CAAHEP-accredited education, ARDMS registration, and CPR certification; licensing as applicable. The role offers varied shifts as a temporary/PRN position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of AMA-accredited or CAAHEP-accredited sonography program.
• ARDMS registration in good standing is required.
• Sonography imaging specialty certification (AB/BR/ObGyn, etc.) is required.
• State license as a Sonographer, if applicable.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned scanner(s) to produce diagnostic images.
• Explain procedures and position patients for imaging with patient-friendly service.
• Perform routine and advanced sonography imaging with minimal supervision.
• Adjust scan parameters and comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain patient records in RIS and keep work area clean.
• Support imaging protocol manuals, inventory, and staff training.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will beresponsible for operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Sonography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service.

This is a temporary/PRN position working varied shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Sonography Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
3. Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians’ orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) Sonography Department Support

1. Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Other Duties as Assigned

1. Completes other tasks and projects as assigned

Required:

1. High school diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

1. Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
2. Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
3. Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
4. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
5. Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently

Preferred:

1. Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
2. OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
3. Bilingual
