Qualifications

  • Must have Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound.
  • RDMS certification required within 6 months of graduation from a CAAHEP program, or within 18 months from a non-accredited program.
  • If hired prior to September 1, 2022, RDMS is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans.
  • Produces ultrasound images and obtains all measurements using various transducers and techniques.
  • Reviews patient chart for history, orders, and clinical appropriateness.
  • Notes the scan in the chart and completes preliminary reporting.
  • Calls preliminary reports to doctors' offices or nursing floors as requested by Radiologist.
  • Assists physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
  • Cleans, stocks, and prepares rooms daily.
  • Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Provide high-quality patient care with exceptional service and compassion.
  • Acts as a resource to ultrasound students and preceptor for orientation of new personnel.

STATUS: Per Diem LOCATION: Imaging Center - Bay Creek DEPARTMENT: Imaging SCHEDULE: Per Diem;7:45 am - 4:15 pm M-F; half day on saturday approx every 6-10 weeks

SUMMARY As a Sonographer, you play an important part in high-quality imaging exams needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Performs or assists in the performance of Vascular, Abdominal, OB/GYN, or Neurovascular Sonography exams. The primary objective is to obtain high-quality images and maximize the efficiency of the Radiologist or Neurologist while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans.
  • Produces ultrasound images and obtains all required measurements using various transducers, imaging techniques in compliance with procedure standards as determined by the physician or directing provider.
  • Reviews patient chart for patient history information, valid orders, and clinical appropriateness.
  • Notes the performance of the scan in the patient's chart and completes preliminary reporting.
  • Calls preliminary reports to doctors' offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.
  • Assists physicians with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance.
  • Cleans, stocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
  • Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Provide high-quality patient care with exceptional service and compassion.
  • Act as a resource to ultrasound students by demonstration and explanation of procedures; function as a preceptor in the orientation of new personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound is required for all new hires.
  • For Radiology sites/affiliates with ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required (within 6 months of graduation from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Program (CAAHEP), or within 18 months of graduation from a non-accredited program).
  • If hired prior to September 1, 2022, a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS CertificationFor radiology sites/affiliates without ACR accreditation, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE

$35.00 - $47.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
