Job summary

Thompson Health's UR Medicine Thompson Health team is seeking an OB/GYN Sonographer for Canandaigua Medical Group. The role offers a competitive hourly pay rate, free on-site parking, and a modern, high-tech work environment with three location flexibility (Canandaigua, Farmington, Geneva).

Schedule: Mon-Fri days as needed with no on-call requirements. Experience with ultrasound, ARDMS certification, and ongoing professional credentials are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or registered with equivalent ultrasound experience
• Certified with ARDMS required
• BLS certification required
• BS degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound preferred
• Registered in OB/GYN within one year
• Registered in Abdomen preferred
• Maintains professional credentials related to Sonography & continuing ed activities
• Nuchal Translucency and CLEAR certification preferred
• Minimum of one year Ultrasound experience preferred

Responsibilities

• The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments, acquires and analyzes data obtained using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies, provides a summary of findings to the physician to aid in patient diagnosis and management and uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making & prioritizing assignments.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop & maintain collaborative working relationships with all team members & medical staff.
• Actively guards confidentiality of sensitive info including patients, staff & the health system.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
• Demonstrates computer knowledge & skills including EMR modules & PACS system

Pay Range: $39.60-50.60 per hour, based on experience.

Working Conditions/Hazards/Equipment and Machinery Used:

• Sits or stands for long periods of time. Use of personal computers.
• Exposed to emotional and psychological stresses associated with caring for patients.
• Must be able to perform without physical limitations.

Pay Range: $39.60 - $50.60 per hour
