Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Sonographer – Ultrasound to perform a variety of ultrasound exams for patients of all ages under supervision. This full-time night shift role offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus and opportunities to grow within a safety-net hospital setting.

The position requires ARDMS certification or registry eligibility, competency in sonographic procedures, BLS, and at least two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to department policies and ensure patient safety and quality standards.
• Complete ASAP exams within one hour or per radiologist instructions.

Job description

Broadlawns Medical Center is a Level3 rated safety‑net hospital providing acute care, primary and specialty services, urgent and emergency care, lab, radiology, dentistry, inpatient and outpatient mental health, crisis team, and community‑based behavioral support.

Sonographer – Ultrasound

Under the direct supervision of the radiologist and the imaging services supervisor, the sonographer performs a variety of ultrasound procedures for patients of all ages, genders, cultures, and backgrounds.

Schedule: Full Time – 9:00p.m.–7:30a.m. or 8:00p.m.–6:30a.m., Monday–Thursday. Sign‑On Bonus: $7,500.

Performance Standards

• Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changes in workload, schedule, department function, and procedures.
• Participate actively in creating a positive and harmonious work environment through teamwork and cooperative, responsive behaviors.
• Meet or exceed competency criteria specific to the task and duties of the position.
• Complete all annual hospital‑wide mandatory training within the defined timeframe.
• Demonstrate competence in specified computer and ultrasound applications.
• Utilize time wisely, completing all patient exams in a timely manner, assisting others, and performing departmental duties as needed (e.g., restocking, housekeeping, patient safety, compliance improvements, inspection readiness).
• Complete ASAP exams within one hour or as directed by the radiologist and report all stat exams within one hour.

Qualifications

• Certification by the A.R.D.M.S. or registry eligibility for sonography.
• Ability to demonstrate competency in sonographic procedures.
• Successful demonstration of competence in Basic Life Support (Health Care Provider).
• Experience with general computer applications.
• Minimum of two years of experience.
