Job summary

Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH is seeking a Sonographer to produce high quality diagnostic ultrasound images for radiologist interpretation, supporting a collaborative care team across on-site locations.

The role requires ARDMS/MIRT-aligned credentials, BLS, and a commitment to ongoing professional development within a busy Ultrasound department offering diverse exams including OB/GYN, vascular, and abdominal studies.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited (CAAHEP) Sonography program recognized by ARDMS.
• Must be registry-eligible with 12 months to obtain ARDMS credentials.
• Current MIRT compliance prior to hire is required.
• Vascular registration within 18 months of employment; ARDMS preferred.
• BLS certification required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality diagnostic ultrasound images for radiologist interpretation according to IAC standards and ARDMS ethics.
• Serve as primary liaison between patients, clinicians, and the care team.
• Adhere to department protocols and use independent professional judgment.
• Collaborate with Radiology staff to support a team-based ultrasound service.

Who We Are:

Our Ultrasound department prides itself on working together in a learning environment to best serve our patients and community. Staff can rotate from the hospital to any of our other five ultrasound off-site or specialty departments, depending on their skill set and interests.

About the Job:

As a Sonographer you will be responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images for Radiologist Interpretation. Most shifts and locations require staff to work as part of a team. Our department is always looking to grow and improve the services we provide to our community. Exams preformed include and not limited to; Invasive Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Thyroid FNA, Renal and Liver Biopsy), OR cases, General Abdominal and Small Parts, OB/GYN, MSK, Liver Elastography, Pediatric, Neurology, Breast and Vascular exams.

What You’ll Do:

• Performs ultrasound procedures based on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission standards (IAC) and the adheres to the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) “Code of Ethics”
• Serves as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team.
• Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
• Use independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.

Who You Are:

• Successful completion of accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS.
• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Preferred.
  • Familiarity with neuro-sonology, vascular scanning, abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning, Preferred.
• Compliant with Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) prior to hire, Required
• ARMDS Registered, Preferred
  • OR registry eligible, must be obtain within 12 months from accepted employment, Required
  • Vascular registered within 18 months from accepted employment, Required
• Ability to obtain BLS during employment
