Job summary

Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County, MO, seeks a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer to perform ultrasound imaging across various exams and to document procedures thoroughly. The role may include on‑call portable studies and support for a busy imaging department.

The position offers a 10‑hour shift pattern (Mon‑Thu, 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) with a sign‑on bonus for eligible applicants, and a collaborative hospital environment within BJC HealthCare.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Sonographer imaging for abdominal, small parts and obstetrical patients.
• RDMS or equiv certification.
• RDCS or equiv certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and documents procedures accurately.
• Operates studies independently, may be on‑call and perform portable exams as needed.

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world‑class pediatric emergency care. Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at‑risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. The Imaging Services Department is a full‑service department, providing comprehensive imaging support. Included within the scope of services available are these exam classifications: General X‑ray, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography, Diagnostic Mammograms and Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Preferred Qualifications

The Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging
