Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Sonographer to join its Ultrasound Team. The role involves performing abdominal, small parts and obstetrical imaging for adult and pediatric patients, with on-call duties and a 4-day workweek 10-hour shifts from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available for eligible applicants. RVT registry within 1 year from hire date is required; CPR is recommended.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or Trade School equivalence.
• RDMS or equivalent certification required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound imaging including abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical exams.
• Assists with needle procedures (biopsies, drainages, etc.).
• Operates equipment and ensures proper documentation; may work on-call and at other sites.

Preferred Qualifications

Role PurposeThe Registered Diagnostic Sonographer performs ultrasound imaging, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, and obstetrical, to adult and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders, and assist with needle procedures (i.e., biopsies, drainages, needle placements, etc.). May also perform vascular imaging

ResponsibilitiesEnsures proper function and readiness of all equipment.Performs ultrasound imaging examinations and ensures proper documentation of procedures.Performs studies independently, may perform studies on-call, portable exams, and at other sites as required by work area.
