Job summary

Women’s Care seeks a skilled MFM Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations, including routine OB and specialized MFM procedures, and to document results in the patient record. The ideal candidate has ARDMS OB/GYN certification, nuchal translucency experience, and 1–2 years in MFM, with 3D-4D scanning proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ARDMS certification with a specialty in OB/GYN.
• Nuchal translucency experience.
• Fetal Echo certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire (location dependent).
• 1–2 years of recent MFM experience.
• Experience with 3D-4D scans.
• Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations, including routine OB and MFM procedures.
• Complete detailed fetal anatomy surveys and specialized exams.
• Perform nuchal translucency, fetal doppler, and biophysical profile assessments.
• Assist with amniocentesis and CVS procedures as directed.
• Document findings in the electronic medical record and maintain professional conduct.

The MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations and records the findings. This includes routine ultrasound exams, as well as specialized procedures as directed.

• Performs nuchal translucency scans per established standards and guidelines.
• Completes detailed fetal anatomic surveys and fetal echo exams.
• Performs fetal doppler when appropriate.
• Performs biophysical profile exams.
• Performs 3D-4D scans.
• Performs transvaginal sonography.
• Evaluates the images for their quality, but also interprets what was captured in the image.
• Assists providers with amniocentesis and CVS procedures.
• Documents/updates information in patient’s electronic medical record.
• Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.

• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients in a courteous and effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, eCW a plus.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
