Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations including routine OB/GYN and specialized procedures.
• Conduct nuchal translucency scans per established standards.
• Complete fetal anatomic surveys and fetal echo exams.
• Perform 3D-4D scans and transvaginal sonography.
• Document findings in the EMR and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Assist providers with amniocentesis and CVS procedures.
• Represent clinic professionally to patients and staff.
• Attend required meetings and participate in team development.

Women's Care was founded in 1998 by a small group of obstetrics and gynecology physicians in Tampa. Today, our organization has grown to over 100 locations in numerous states by remaining true to its mission of improving the health and lives of our patients every day.

The MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations and records the findings. This includes routine ultrasound exams, as well as specialized procedures as directed.

• Performs nuchal translucency scans per established standards and guidelines.
• Completes detailed fetal anatomic surveys and fetal echo exams.
• Performs fetal doppler when appropriate.
• Performs biophysical profile exams.
• Performs 3D-4D scans.
• Performs transvaginal sonography.
• Evaluates the images for their quality, but also interprets what was captured in the image.
• Assists providers with amniocentesis and CVS procedures.
• Documents/updates information in patient’s electronic medical record.
• Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid ARDMS certification with a specialty in OBGYN.
• Nuchal translucency experience.
• Some locations may require a Fetal Echo certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent MFM experience.
• Experience with 3D-4D scans.
• Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients in a courteous and effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, eCW a plus.
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
