Job summary

Baptist Health in Homewood, AL seeks a qualified Ultrasound Technologist with at least one year of experience in sonography. The role involves routine and complex ultrasound procedures including biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast localization, and Doppler/3D/4D imaging.

Monday availability is required. The candidate must be ARDMS-registered, hold a current BLS/Healthcare Provider certificate, and be registered in RDMS physics with two ARDMS registries.

Qualifications

• RDMS registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
• Maintains RDMS physics registry and a minimum of two ARDMS registries pertinent to department.
• Must be registered through ARDMS within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

Brief Overview:

One (1) year of experience in sonography. Knowledge of routine and complex ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography. Routinely demonstrates competency in performing ultrasound examinations pertinent to department. Must be able to work Mondays.

• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personalprotective equipmentto prevent cross-contaminationof contagious diseases.
• Assists in supervision ofstudent sonographers and training of new sonographers.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
