Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Level II Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations across General, OB-GYN, and Vascular specialties and to present findings to the interpreting radiologist at the appropriate ARDMS level.

The role requires ARDMS eligibility by date of hire, ARDMS Abdomen and Vascular (RVT) certification within one year, and OB/GYN experience by two years. Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program with training in ultrasound scanner operation is expected.

Qualifications

  • ARDMS eligible by date of hire.
  • ARDMS certification in Abdomen and Vascular (RVT) within one year of employment.
  • OB/GYN certification at a minimum by two years of employment.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program.
  • Training specific to the operation and use of Ultrasound scanners.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound examinations in multiple specialties (General, OB-GYN, Vascular).
  • Presents findings to interpreting radiologist at appropriate ARDMS level.
  • Analyzes patient anatomy to select examination approach.
  • Assists with transducer placement and use during procedures.
  • Assists with intra abdominal devices and biopsy/amniocentesis procedures.
  • Provides portable bedside examinations and documents video.
  • Performs high-level disinfection on transducers and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Wage Range: $49.57 - $82.68 per hour plus per diem premium

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary:
The Sonographer, Level II, is accomplished in two or more of the following applications: General (abdominal, OB-GYN, small parts, nuerosonology and breast) and Vascular Technology (carotid, venous and arterial), and presents the findings to the interpreting radiologist on the level appropriate with the ARDMS level II Sonographer.

Primary Duties:
1. Preforms Ultrasound examinations in different specialties, including:
a) General Ultrasound (Abdomen, Pelvic, Renal, Thyroid, Scrotal, Breast, MSK, Neurosonology, and Pediatrics; Assisting with Interventional Procedures, including biopsies, aspirations, localizations, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, and OR/Cath Lab guidance).
b) OB Ultrasound (First and 2nd Trimester OB, D & E Procedures, and amniocentesis)
c) Vascular Ultrasound (Abdominal Vasculature, Venous Extremities, Arterial Extremities, Carotid Doppler, Renal Arterial Doppler, TIPS, Grafts, and ABI/Toe Pressures).
2. Analyzes patient's general body configuration to analyze the most acceptable examination approach
3. Assists with introduction or placement and the application of various ultrasound transducers.
4. Assists with introduction or placement of intra cavity devices, as well as needles designed for biopsy or amniocentesis.
5. Provides portable examinations at bedside as requested by attending physicians and processes the documenting video film.
6. Performs high-level disinfection on transducers as appropriate.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
ARDMS-eligible by date of hire. ARDMS-certified in Abdomen and Vascular Certification (RVT) within one year of employment.
OB/GYN at a minimum by two years of employment.
Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program.
Training specific to the operation and use of Ultrasound scanners
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
