Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest in Oregon is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our hospital and clinical setting. The role covers OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular ultrasound, with supportive clerical duties and a commitment to team-based patient care.

You will collaborate with radiologists, perform routine and emergent studies, assist with patient transport, restock supplies, and participate in quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Ultrasonographer Program or equivalent ultrasound experience.
• ARDMS certification in OB-GYN or Abdomen is required at hire.
• Current Oregon Sonography Technologist License and BLS within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures for OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular studies with attention to patient age and department policies.
• Communicate with Radiologist to ensure quality exam interpretations.
• Assist patient/transport and participate in exam review, restocking, cleaning and QA activities.
• Other duties as assigned to support the ultrasound team.

Job Summary

To provide diagnostic ultrasound services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, to include OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. Clerical duties as required. To perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concepts and reflects the KPNW Mission and philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities

• Performing diagnostic procedures, using knowledge, skills and abilities required for age of patient served to include: Routine, emergent, portable, surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Communication with Radiologist.
• Assist patient/transport.
• Exam review. File work. Restocking supplies/cleaning. Quality Assurance functions. Other duties as assigned

Education

• Graduate of an CAAHEP Accredited Ultrasonographer Program at time of hire or 2 yrs previous Ultrasound experience.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn required at hire from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen required at hire from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
• Sonography Technologist License (Oregon)
• Basic Life Support within 1 months of hire
