Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN is seeking an Ultrasonographer for a PRN temporary position that is estimated to last about six weeks. The role includes Day/Evening and Weekend shifts, with a starting wage between $39.41 and $59.11 per hour based on experience.

The position is on-site, requiring completion of an accredited sonography program and ARDMS certification, plus BLS. Duties include image acquisition and providing preliminary findings to the radiologist.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of an accrediting Diagnostic Sonography Program.
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative to confirm orders are accurate.
• Reviews patient history for necessary information (lab results, surgeries, etc.).
• Performs difficult manipulative skills to obtain diagnostic images on all patients (outpatient, inpatient, ER, OR, and portable).
• Uses independent judgment to evaluate images and related data to interpret exams and provides preliminary findings to the radiologist.
• Performs invasive procedures.
• Takes call on a rotating basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
