Job summary

Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in Minnesota seeks an Ultrasound Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and interact with patients, physicians, and staff with professionalism. The role includes maintaining equipment and applying emergency protocols to ensure safety.

The position is casual, with 1 shift every two weeks as needed, and requires ARDMS eligibility with RDMS/RVT within six months. CPR skills must be kept current, and a strong anatomy/physiology background is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent.
• Must maintain current CPR skills.
• ARDMS registration or registry eligibility required; RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire.

Job description

Position Summary

Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images.

Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.

Maintains ultrasound equipment in optimum working condition.

Applies knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.

Work Schedule

Casual - 1 shift per 2 week pay period if needed.

Required Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent.
• Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current on technical advances as they occur.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification

• Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Registered in RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire required.
• Must maintain current CPR skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have a strong anatomy and physiology background.
• Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Must have proven ability to operate the following safely and efficiently: Ultrasound equipment, Fax, Telephone, PC, Printer, and Photocopier.

Preferred Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination

• Additional specialized training or at least one year of ultrasound experience preferred.
