Job summary

Park Nicollet/Methodist Hospital is seeking a Sonographer to join the Radiology team. You will perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and interact with patients in a courteous, professional manner.

The role maintains equipment, follows emergency protocols, and supports safety in a fast-paced healthcare environment; ARDMS certification is preferred, with registry eligible considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography.
• Must participate in continuing education to stay current on technical advances.
• Must be registered or registry eligible by ARDMS.
• RDMS and RVT registration within 6 months of hire.
• Maintain current CPR skills.
• Strong anatomy and physiology knowledge.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Maintains ultrasound equipment in optimum working condition. Applies knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.

Work Schedule:

Casual - 1 shift per 2 week pay period if needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination


• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent.


• Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current on technical advances as they occur.


• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:


• Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).


• Registered in RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire required.


• Must maintain current CPR skills.


• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


• Must have a strong anatomy and physiology background.


• Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment.


• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.


• Must have proven ability to operate the following safely and efficiently: Ultrasound equipment, Fax, Telephone, PC, Printer, and Photocopier.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:


• Additional specialized training or at least one year of ultrasound experience preferred.
