Job summary

Park Nicollet is seeking a Sonographer to join our Radiology team. You will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images and interact with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional manner. The role includes maintaining equipment and following emergency protocols to ensure safety.

The position involves floating to clinics, with varied start times and rotating weekend coverage, supporting Central South locations and St. Louis Park shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Medical Sonography.
• Willing to participate in continuing education to stay current.
• ARDMS registration or registry eligibility required; RDMS/RVT within 6 months of hire.
• Maintain current CPR skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality diagnostic ultrasound images.

Job description

Position Summary

Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Maintains ultrasound equipment in optimum working condition. Applies knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.

Work Schedule

Floating to different clinics on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday's day shift – start time can vary from 6:45am to 10am. Wednesday's, at St. Louis Park, 11:30am - 8pm.

Rotating weekend every 12-14 weeks at the Burnsville Clinic.

Required Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent

Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain current on technical advances as they occur.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification

Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Registered in RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire required.

Must maintain current CPR skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have a strong anatomy and physiology background.

Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment.

Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Must have proven ability to operate the following safely and efficiently: Ultrasound equipment, Fax, Telephone, PC, Printer, and Photocopier.

Preferred Qualifications

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

Additional specialized training or at least one year of ultrasound experience preferred
